FOBTV Session Held during NAB2017

Las Vegas, April 25, 2017 -The FOBTV Session, Broadcasting Beyond HD: Global Plans for Next Generation Television, was held on April 25, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas during the NAB Show. This session highlighted descriptions of next generation television broadcast services with broadcast executives from the U.S., Europe and Asia, including case studies about revolutionary television broadcast services that have already launched and near-term strategies from those on the launch pad.

The session was chaired by Lynn Claudy, senior vice president of technology at NAB, United States and chair of the FOBTV Management Committee. Presenters included Sammo Cho, Manager of UHD Planning of SBS, Korea, Peter MacAvock, chairman of DVB, Switzerland, Jerry Whitaker, vice president of ATSC, United States, Lynn Lin, General Manager of Immersive Media from NERC-DTV, China and Tomohiro Saito, Executive Research Engineer of NHK STRL, Japan. Speakers gave presentations on the latest status of next generation broadcast service and technologies in North America, Europe and Asia.

The session was sponsored by the Future of Broadcast Television (FOBTV) Initiative, a not-for-profit international association that recognizes the unique importance of terrestrial television broadcasting and promotes international information exchange, collaborative research groups and global agreement on technologies for television broadcasting.
